ANOTHER FUNNY MOMENTS

After the last day of workshop at UST yesterday, I went back to CSB early because I cannot pay attention to any other lectures anymore. My whole brain is full of different lectures data and no more space to insert new lectures.

I asked my interpreter (Ria) to remind the organizers about my Official Receipts and Certificates. Around 1:30pm, the organizers gave it to me and I went straight back to CSB.

While riding FX to Vito Cruz, I sent text message to Lovella and told her that I will be able to attend DSAP meeting at night. To my surprise, she replied: "CANCELLED."

My right eyebrow raised... and typed... "Why?" then click SEND.

She replied because no members replied whether they'll be able to attend meeting. I explained to her that members replied while only me and George asked her to reconsider the venue of the meeting. Glorietta is far for both of us. George's working in QC while I'm from UST after the last day of the seminar. I also added that I never got her response regarding that concern.

To my surprise... she defended that she didn't that message of mine... My juice!

As the general secretary of DSAP, I sent message to other Board Members that the meeting is cancelled. Few minutes after... Lovella's name appeared in my phone and told me that the meeting is postponed on the next day (Friday).

Migs: Sorry! I can't I'm not available at 5pm. You guys can go ahead without me.

Before a minute came to an end... another message appeared from Lovella again... she said: LET'S HAVE MEETING TONIGHT. My eyes widened and told myself... "Bitch! You told me recently that you cancel the meeting... now you're going to resume it after I announced the word 'cancel' to others. What's happening on your mind? You need to rehabiliatate."

So, I announced the Board Members again that the meeting is resume on the appointed time and place. Thanks to them because they didn't blame me for the confusion.

Upon my arrival at CSB, I met my coordinator and gave to her the receipts, and told her what happened in the seminar. After that I quickened my pace to PEN-LC (my office) and arranged the agenda of the meeting. One hour after, I sent it to them thru email, and also informed them to check their email. I said:

"Hello. Please check your email because I attached the agenda of our meeting later. It's a POWERPOINT slide. See you all at Harbor Square later. Thank you."

I rested after being tired from the seminar and preparing the agenda.

Around 7pm, I left school but before that I sent a message to Lovella to give me a lift. I also added to meet me at Starbucks in Vito Cruz. But... my jaws and eyes dropped when she replied:

Lovella: I thought Powerplant? You said Powerplant?

Migs: I said Harbor Square!

Lovella: No! You said Powerplant in your message recently.

Migs: I don't remember mentioning the word Powerplant... maybe you read wrong?

Lovella: Wait... I'll check again.

1 minute... 2 minutes... 3 minutes... 4 minutes.... 5 minutes... 6 minutes... 7 minutes... and here we go:

Lovella: You're right! Harbor Square... sorry I misread your message.

Migs: How?

Lovella: You typed POWERPOINT... But I misread it... I read it as POWERPLANT.

Migs: TSK! TSK! TSK!

ANAGRAMS... ANAGRAMS...

I've finishe reading more than 10 chapters of THE ALEXANDRIA LINK... I think I'll just have only put few thoughts in this blog entry....

Well, many might remember that in Dan Brown's unfogettable suspense The Da Vinci Code, he used most of Da Vinci's painting as tool in revealing the deepest and darkest secret of the church. Like a guide in a thrilling treasure hunt. He used The Mona Lisa, The Vitruvian Man, Madonna of the Rocks and the others.

How about Berry?

In his The Alexandria Link, Berry used the painting of Nicholas Poussin, THE SHEPHERDS OF ARCADIA I and THE SHEPHERDS OF ARCADIA II, some sources in the internet supported the theory that the paintings is a clue to something very important--another treasure hunt again probably.

There's an inscription in the painting and it is ET IN ARCADIA EGO which simply means "I am also in Arcadia." But, the book added an interpretation that through an anagram, another meaning came to life and I can say... shocking!

If anagram is to be used, the words ET IN ARCADIA EGO could also be read as I TEGO ARCANA DEI, which means in English as "Begone! I Concel the Secrets of God."

Oh... I'm starting to go mental over the masterpieces of art... painting for an example. Those painters decided to use their paintings as the treasure chest of their knowledge, and that knowledge is can only be deciphered and understood if someone is going to see it not as an ordinary art but deeper than being art, or maybe deeper in its being abstract.

Let me stop here and I'm going to think about it over and over again.

ANOTHER CRAZY MOMENTS WITH LOVELLA

It was Thursday afternoon, I was in canteen and just finished my lunch when Lovella's name appeared again on my mobile phone. For those who have read my previous blog "FUNNY MOMENTS" might knew what her message to me was about... and you guessed right... three words---FOLLOW-UP CALL!

I met cutie Leo who assited me in telephone call... sadly... the receiver of the call said to call again on Monday. (Uhm... red tape!)

Back to my work... then later, another message from Lovella, I thought it was another follow-up call, but thanks goodness... it was an invitation.

Lovella: Hi Migs, do you want to have dinner with me and Miles tonight at Harbor Square?

Migs: Yes, Your Highness.

Lovella: Mental! Meet me at O-DEAF before 8pm.

Migs: Sure.

After long hours sitting and facing the computer, I got bored. Around 7pm, I went down to meet Lovella. She told me about inviting Jay (her ex-bf) to dine with us. At 7:45pm, we left school riding her car. We just covered a few meters when she stopped in front of Metrobank to withdraw some cash.

Few minutes passed, she's back in the car and told me that Jay's car parked just behind us. Then, Jay's car moved and stopped just beside Lovella's car. Jay opened the window as well as Lovella.

To my surprise, Jay was angry. Here goes the event:

Jay: WHY DID YOU SAY METROWALK?

Lovella: What Metrowalk?

Jay: YOU SAID YOU PARKED IN METROWALK?

Lovella: Read my message... I said METROBANK?

Jay: NO!!! YOU TEXT ME METROWALK... BUT IT'S METROBANK!

Lovella: Really?!?!

Jay: YES! BE CAREFUL READING SIGNBOARDS! IT'S METROBANK... NOT METROWALK!!! LOOK THERE!!! LOOK!!!!!!!

Lovella: Oh! Sorry....

Jay: TSK! TSK! TSK!

Jay closed his car's window and moved a little further ahead of us. Me and Lovella looked to each other.

Migs: What Metrowalk?

Lovella: I typed wrong... I should type METROBANK... not METROWALK.

Both of us: HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!!!!!!!

BACK TO ADVENTURE

Three or four months have been passed since I haven't the books which I bought last year... I must be very busy last year. Haven't even got a time to put more interesting thoughts in my blog here, or even pictures, videos, and reviews. Tsk... whatta busy term.

But this January, I forced myself to read something interesting again. New book to read. New adventure to explore. New knowledge to learn. And new things to be curious about.

Steve Berry's THE ALEXANDRIA LINK is the book that currently keeps me busy today, in addition of my teaching work, and other tasks in my organization. The book is fantastic. Steve writes like Dan Brown. I really wanted to finish the book in one day but sad to say, I have other things to worry about, and I already mentioned it here.

Another fact-based thriller, an excellent blend of fact and fiction, where the subject is about the mystery of the ancient and lost Library of Alexandria. One sources I've read somewhere in the internet mentioned that one critical response to the book is the portrayal of the Arab-Israeli War in 1948.

Many may have thought the same way as myself, that the Arab-Israeli War erupted because of politics. But, the book said... I'm wrong. Instead, it was a religious battle between Islam and Christianity (or maybe Judaism).

Here, read an excerpt from the book: "The conflict in the Middle East, between the Jews and Arabs is not a political battle, as many perceived. Instead it was a never-ending contest over the Word of God."

So, they're fighting over who really is the chosen nation of the Almighty--the true promised land. This ownership of the promised land (and probably the chosen nation of the Almighty) is traced back to Abraham.

Abram had his first born son to Hagar, not to his wife Sarai. His first born was named Ishmael. In the Koran, Abraham is known as Ibrahim while Ishmael as Isma'il, and it also made clear that Ibrahim and Isma'il raised the foundation of the House, which the book pointed out as the Kaaba, Islam's holiest shrine in Mecca.

Later, God changed Abram's name to Abraham and his wife Sarai to Sarah. In addition, his wife gave birth to Sarah's first born, the boy was named Isaac--who became Abraham's heir. The land of Canaan was promised to Isaac and to Abraham as well.

Isaac fathered Jacob, who later we knew by the name Israel. Later, he had twelve sons which became the twelve tribes of Israel. One of the twelve tribes directed us to David, then later to Christ.

Another excerpt from the book said: "Abraham is the father of all three of the world's main religions. Islam, Judaism, and Christianity trace their roots to him, though the story of his life differs in each. The entire conflict in the Middle East, which has endured for thousands of yers, is simply a debate over which account is correct, which religion is divine right to the land. The Arabs through Ismael. The Jews from Isaac. The Christians by Christ."

It's getting deeper or more easy to say, confusing... which God shall I kneel? Allah? Yahweh? or Christ?

Let me stop here dudes and dudettes... I haven't yet finished the book... But I'm starting to wonder if I am on the right track about the faith which I am holding now.

I'll just keep you updated of my progress and the thoughts I pondered in my reading.

FUNNY MOMENTS

This is the copy of another CRAZY moment with Lovella....

Last year, she pestered me of repeated "MAKE THE LETTER NOW" text messages. She could not wait for the sponsor letters for our sports organization to be send to different companies. Even in the dead of the night, her name appears on the screen of my mobile phone, reminding me: DO IT ASAP!

After few weeks of working, the letter finally finished, and we sent it to our sponsoring companies. But, after two months of waiting, no one even called to us. Worse... we forgot follow-up calls.

January entered, the holiday season ended. Here goes Lovella again, appeared again on my mobile phone, pestering me about "FOLLOW-UP CALLS." As a cutie and humble angel, I just replied "MA'AM, I'M DEAF... I CAN'T MAKE CALLS. HOLIDAY JUST ENDED. PLEASE GIVE ME A BREAK."

In school, a new trimester began few weeks ago. Lot of stressful moments are starting to come back. Papers came first in my thought... Yes many papers again... students quizzes, reaction and reflection papers, assignments, projects, and LETTERS FOR OUR ORGANIZATION...

Few days passed, we start to work cooperatively by asking our hearing friends for follow-up calls... Leo (hearing) a colleague of mine, approached me laughing... I asked what's behind his fresh smile that caught my heart (corny!). He told me that when Lovella went to Adidas Philippines to submit sponsorship letter for our organization... SHE WORE NIKE TSHIRT!!! The result was obvious... Adidas declined sponsorship!

"What the hell is she thinking at that time?" I asked myself, "Tsk tsk tsk!"

Another few weeks passed after that event...

This morning, while I was taking a heavenly nap in my pad, her name appeared again on my mobile phone. I knew what the message contains... just three words... FOLLOW-UP CALL. I asked what company and I prepared myself to leave after I got her reply.

Upon my arrival in the office in the afternoon, I turned my attention first in watching the 15th Episode of Mobile Suit Gundam 00... the 15th episode was titled "Broken Wings" but I don't have much time to discuss further here.

Around 2:30pm, I went down and glad to found my cutie colleague busy in front of computer. I asked a sincerest apology for stealing some of his precious office work hours just to call. We went together near the telephone, then, dial... dial... dial... click.... click... click... BUSY!

He tried again. But I noticed him smiling again. Then...

LEO: Come and have a look.

MIGS: On what?

Wow... It was great... We sent letter to SMART NETWORK and maybe it was Lovella who delivered it... My eyes and jaws dropped after seeing the contact number she'd put... A GLOBE NUMBER!!!

My right hand reached for my mobile phone just in the pocket of the denim I'm wearing... and typed:

"TSK TSK TSK... YOU SENT LETTER TO SMART ASKING FOR SPONSOR... BUT YOU PUT GLOBE NUMBER TO CONTACT YOU... TSK TSK TSK"

My second message:

"FIRST YOU WENT TO ADIDAS, YOU WORE NIKE... WHAT'S NEXT? IF YOU'LL BE SENT TO TOYOTA... WILL YOU BRING HONDA???"
